This policy explains how Yury Zhuravlev, the operator of Anime-Pictures (the “Site”), collects, uses, stores, and discloses information. It also explains how the Site processes uploaded images and handles requests from creators and other rights holders.
Anime-Pictures is a user-contributed image catalog and search service for artworks, creators, sources, and descriptive metadata. The appearance of a work on the Site does not transfer copyright, prove that an uploader had permission, or grant any visitor, API user, scraper, or AI operator a license to reuse that work.
1. Information we collect
Account and profile information
Depending on how you use the Site, we may collect:
- username, email address, password hash, and account status;
- profile information you choose to provide, including an avatar and preferences;
- identifiers and basic profile data received from a selected sign-in provider;
- language, time zone, theme, content filters, and notification settings; and
- Web Push subscription details when you enable push notifications.
Signing in with Google
If you choose Google sign-in, Anime-Pictures requests access to your basic Google profile and email address. We receive your Google account identifier, email address, name, and profile picture when available. Our sign-in handler can also save gender if Google supplies it. We do not request access to Gmail messages, Google Drive files, or contacts, and we never receive your Google password.
We use the identifier and email to sign you in and create or link your Site account. If an existing account has the same email address, we may link your Google sign-in to it. We store the identifier and email with your account, use your name to initialize a new profile, and may copy your Google picture as your Site avatar if you do not already have one. Your Site profile name and avatar are public; you can change them in settings.
Google sign-in data is used for account access and profile features, not sold or used for advertising or AI training. Hosting and storage providers process it to run these features; authorized staff may access it for support and security. The disclosures in section 7 also apply where necessary, including legal requests. We use HTTPS for Google sign-in and restrict access to non-public account data. The Google access token is used during sign-in to retrieve your profile, not saved as an account credential for later Google API access.
Stored Google account data follows the retention rules in section 8. You can remove Anime-Pictures access in your Google Account's third-party connections. This does not delete your Site account or data already stored here. To request deletion of your account or Google-derived data, email stalkerg@gmail.com. We may verify account ownership; backup copies and records needed for security or legal purposes may remain as described in section 8.
Activity and content
We may store activity associated with your account, including:
- uploaded images and the information supplied with them;
- tags, tag recommendations, sources, comments, messages, favorites, and ratings;
- reports, moderation actions, and account-management history; and
- correspondence with support, moderators, and rights holders.
Public contributions and profile information may be displayed publicly together with your username. Private messages are not displayed publicly, but they are stored and processed to provide the messaging service and to investigate abuse where necessary.
Technical information
When you access the Site, we may process IP addresses, request timestamps, requested URLs, referrers, browser and device information, operating system, cookies, security signals, error information, and similar server-log data. We use this information to operate the service, diagnose problems, prevent abuse, enforce rate limits, and protect users and infrastructure.
Rights-holder verification information
If you submit a copyright or creator-control request, we may collect your contact details, the works and profiles you identify, links to official accounts or websites, verification messages or codes, the requested restrictions, and the history and outcome of the request. We ask only for information reasonably necessary to verify authority and process the request. Government identification is not required by default.
2. How we use information
We use collected information to:
- create and manage accounts, authenticate users, and provide requested features;
- display and organize user contributions;
- send service email and optional Web Push notifications;
- personalize settings, recommendations, and content filtering;
- moderate content and investigate spam, fraud, security incidents, and other abuse;
- maintain, debug, measure, and improve the Site;
- identify creators and original sources and correct catalog metadata;
- detect duplicate files and connect related versions of a work;
- process creator and rights-holder requests; and
- comply with legal obligations and protect legal rights.
3. Cookies, local storage, and analytics
The Site uses essential cookies and browser storage for authentication, language, theme, time zone, cookie choices, cached account data, and notification preferences. Refusing essential storage may prevent account and preference features from working.
Google Analytics is loaded only after analytics consent is given through the cookie settings. You can review or change that choice from the Site’s cookie settings. Google processes analytics data under its own privacy terms. The Site may also use Cloudflare Turnstile on forms to distinguish legitimate users from automated abuse.
4. How uploaded images are handled today
We store uploaded originals and generate smaller previews. Files are stored and delivered through our infrastructure and service providers. Originals and previews may be available through public URLs; post information may also be available through the website and API. Access restrictions are described in section 6.
Uploaded files are processed for purposes including:
- file, decoded-pixel, and perceptual hashing to find duplicates and similar images;
- technical analysis of format, dimensions, animation, and quality;
- generating and rebuilding previews;
- moderation, tagging, indexing, and source identification; and
- linking versions of a work and checking suspected duplicates or incorrect metadata.
Public previews are used for viewing and tagging, including details such as signatures and background characters. They are not a separate private analysis service.
5. Copyright and source status of the catalog
The catalog includes many years of user submissions. We have not independently verified permission for every work. A source link, artist tag, uploader name, or a work’s presence on the Site does not prove authorization.
Users and moderators contribute and correct creator names, sources, and tags. This information may be incomplete or wrong. “Moderator-checked” refers to the source information, not permission to publish or reuse the work. Report corrections to abuse@anime-pictures.net.
Creators or their representatives can receive access to manage specific artist tags after verification. This does not verify copyright ownership or permission for every listed work. We do not have a complete permission register. Uploaders cannot grant rights they do not hold. This policy grants no permission for AI training, redistribution, commercial use, or other reuse of a work.
6. Requests from creators and rights holders
Creators and other rights holders can use the rights-request form or write to abuse@anime-pictures.net to request a source correction, restriction, or removal. Include the affected links, your requested action, and information that helps us verify your authority, such as an official profile. You do not need artist-tag access to submit a content request.
We review requests and may temporarily restrict images during verification. Submitting a request does not automatically block images or grant artist-tag access. Uploaders cannot override a verified rights holder’s restriction.
- Ban an image: hide its original and previews from the public. Only moderators can view the restricted files. Verified tag managers can ban linked public images; only moderators can restore them.
- Block future publications: prevent publication and restoration of images linked to the restricted artist tag. Existing public images are not automatically banned. This does not prevent every file upload or identify untagged works by the artist.
- Block original downloads: restrict originals of linked images, including existing posts. Previews remain available to view and save. Applying the change may take time; originals may remain accessible until processing finishes.
Verified tag managers can set these publication and download restrictions. Allowing access on the Site does not grant a license to reuse the work. Banning is not permanent deletion: deletion is handled separately and removes active originals and previews. See section 8 for retained copies and backups. We cannot recall files that visitors have already saved.
We check exact duplicates and use image similarity to help moderators find altered copies. These checks do not guarantee detection of every crop, edit, or new work by an artist. Please report reuploads that remain publicly available.
Restriction or removal does not establish that earlier publication was authorized. We do not claim a copyright exception for every use of every work.
7. Sharing and service providers
We do not sell or rent personal information. We may disclose information as necessary to:
- hosting, storage, CDN, email, Web Push, analytics, and security providers;
- the sign-in provider you choose to use;
- moderators and contractors who need it to operate or protect the Site;
- comply with a valid legal request or protect users, the Site, or third parties; or
- complete a reorganization or transfer of the service with appropriate safeguards.
External websites linked as artwork sources, creator profiles, or other references have their own privacy and content policies. We do not control their practices.
8. Retention and security
Banned originals and previews may be kept in restricted storage for duplicate detection, review of moderation decisions, and reversal of mistaken bans. Backup copies may contain full images, including files removed from active storage; they are not used for public delivery. Deleting an active file does not immediately erase all backup or cached copies. If you want retained copies deleted, say so in your request.
We retain account information while an account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Retention periods vary for server logs, security records, moderation history, public contributions, messages, rights-holder requests, and legal records. Data may be retained longer where required by law, necessary to resolve disputes, or needed to prevent abuse.
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, alteration, or loss will never occur.
9. Your choices and privacy requests
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export personal information, and to withdraw consent. You can change many account preferences in settings, change analytics consent through cookie settings, disable Web Push in the Site or browser, and request account deletion.
Privacy requests can be sent to stalkerg@gmail.com. Copyright, creator-control, source-correction, and removal requests can be submitted through the rights-request form or sent to abuse@anime-pictures.net. We may ask for reasonable verification before acting on a request.
10. International processing and children
The Site and its providers may process information in countries other than your own. Privacy protections and government-access rules may differ between countries.
The Site is not directed to children who cannot lawfully consent to the processing of their personal information in their jurisdiction. If you believe a child has provided personal information without required consent, please contact us.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service, content-access architecture, rights-holder controls, or legal requirements change. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest revision. Material changes may also be announced on the Site.
